In the spirit of continuous innovation, Chanel collaborated for the very first time with self-taught French-Vietnamese painter and graffiti artist Cyril Kongo. For Chanel’s Métiers d’art 2018/19 collection it commissioned the famous artist to mix its DNA with modernized versions of Egyptian hieroglyphs.
In his private studio at Quai Voltaire in Paris, France, Cyril painted graffiti on lux fabrics then transformed it into precious materials—worthy to be called art. He created the invitations and press kits for the Métiers d’art show, and also designed prints for clothes, accessories, and bags.
The backpack is painted in gold with Cyril Kongo’s colorful graffiti. The CHANEL branding you love is emblazoned from front to back. It has the double C logo, Rue Cambon locations, and the brand’s signature quilting. We also love the iconic leather and chain details on the straps. You’ll also love that it’s a medium-sized bag, roomy enough to contain your valuables from day to night.
